P Mauriat 66R Tenor

$3,300.00Price

The main problem with buying a brand-new horn is that most (if not all) of them are not set up properly at the factory. This means that they won’t play their bests.  And even if they are set up properly, they still need to age and be played a lot to break in.  But at the same time you don’t want to buy a used horn that is beat up either. And that is why you should go for a used horn that has been broken in and set up properly but is in great shape.

This Mauriat 66R is that kind of horns.  Coming from my personal collection, this horn has been set up by my technician, Matt Adams, with light spring tension, open key height, and new felts and corks for quiet, fluid playing and projection.

But the best thing about this horn is the tone.  With real tone holes (drawn from the body tube as Oporto soldered tine rings as seen on the modern Keilwerths) this model has a big, powerful tone that is reminiscent of the vintage Conns. But you don’t have to deal with their horrible keywork because the 66R has the Selmer Mark vi-styled keywork.

As a former sales rep for Mauriat, I can tell you that the 66R is the company’s best-selling model and is one of the best tenors coming out of Taiwan . Among players who play it exclusively is Kirk Whalum (who switched from Keilwerth), and that speaks volumes of the quality of this model .

So, don’t miss your chance to own a great tenor at a fraction of a Mark VI.  The price is $3300 which includes FREE shipping in continental USA. For more information, call or text (858) 568 544three.

Thank you.
